The non-food inflation rate showed a slight increase, reaching 9.32 per cent in January—up from 9.26 per cent in December 2024.
The point-to-point inflation rate declined last month both in urban and rural areas. In rural areas, it was 10.18 per cent—a drop from 11.09 per cent in December. The non-food inflation rate in rural areas increased to 9.77 per cent in January—up from 9.65 per cent in December 2024, domestic media outlets reported.
On the other hand, the point-to-point inflation rate in urban areas in January was 9.89 per cent; it was 10.84 per cent in December. The non-food inflation rate in urban areas in January was 9.25 per cent; it was 9.17 per cent in December.
